PokerStars has announced the first three European Poker Tour (EPT) stops on its highly anticipated 2025 schedule, with the iconic tournaments returning to EPT Paris, EPT Monte-Carlo, and EPT Barcelona.
This announcement follows another successful year for the tour, including a memorable celebration of EPT’s 20th anniversary in 2024. As excitement builds, PokerStars has confirmed more events are yet to be revealed.
“We're excited to announce the first part of the calendar with the return of EPT Paris, Monte-Carlo, and Barcelona for 2025”, said Live Events Senior Business Development Manager, Julien Liarte. “These iconic stops have become cornerstones of the European Poker Tour, each offering unique experiences and unparalleled competition. We can’t wait to welcome players back for another incredible year of live poker.”
EPT Paris will kick off the 2025 season, returning to the Le Palais des Congrès from February 12-23. This marks the third year for EPT Paris, with the 2024 edition experiencing record-breaking attendance. Last year’s France Poker Series Main Event saw 4,149 entries, setting a new record for the event. Meanwhile, the EPT Main Event drew 1,224 players from 69 countries, making it one of the largest fields in EPT history. Barny Boatman was crowned the champion and subsequently became a PokerStars ambassador after his €1,287,800 payday.
To secure a spot in EPT Paris, online satellites go live on November 17. Players can win a €8,000 package that includes a €5,300 EPT Main Event buy-in, eight nights’ accommodation at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, and expenses. Additionally, players can win a €3,300 package to the France Poker Series Main Event, which includes a €1,100 buy-in, seven nights’ accommodation, and expenses.
Through the Power Path, online qualifiers can also aim for three distinct packages:
Each Gold Pass includes expenses, limited-edition merchandise, live event support, and access to exclusive FPS/EPT Paris activities.
After Paris, the European Poker Tour heads to Monte-Carlo from April 30 to May 10, 2025, at the Monte-Carlo Casino. With its iconic tournament room that opens up to the Mediterranean and a mix of on- and off-the-felt activities, this stop brings the glitz and glamour to the EPT.
Derk van Luijk topped the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event in May, defeating Boris Angelov in heads-up play. Poker Hall of Famer Patrik Antonius also made the headlines, winning the €100,000 Super High Roller.
Then, from August 18-31, the tour moves to EPT Barcelona at Casino Barcelona. Known for its large fields and vibrant atmosphere, this stop attracts thousands of players. The 2024 Main Event had 1,975 entries and a €9.5 million prize pool, and players can expect more exciting competition in 2025. Stephen Song was 2024's third EPT Main Event champion, and was a deserving winner of the 20th anniversary Main Event.
Cyprus, which joined the EPT circuit in 2023 and recently hosted its second edition in October, appears to be stepping aside. Prague, a longtime EPT favorite now preparing for its December festival, was another unexpected omission for 2025.
While their absence doesn’t confirm they’re being replaced, it suggests the EPT may explore new locations for the Fall and Winter slots. Just one question remains: where will the EPT go in the second half of 2025?
